Mind thinks clearer after a few drinks...

It's true. The best ideas comes when you've numbed yourself with a bit of Johnny, Chivas or anything you prefer.

I guess we all grew up being 'programmed' in such a way that it's when we get a bit tipsy that our mind really breaks free. That's why I always question myself... "What IS the Matrix?" :p

You learnt that you are bound by certain things like social acceptance, image that you are tryin to project... etc... or even something simpler such as 'gravity'... 'time'.... all these are rules that tie us down.

That's also why kids/babies are known to be the greatest problem solvers as they are not (yet) exposed nor bound to such rules. The innocense and direct approaches quite often dumbfound adults. It's as if the longer you live... the more you are tied down.

That's also when you know you are screwed when you can only think of that someone when you are intoxicated. Don't get me wrong. It's a good thing if the other party feels the same way... but if otherwise, need I say more?

All I'm trying to say now is... I'm in that state of mind this very moment. I know this can only mean one thing = I'm screwed.

I'm stubborn.
I don't quit.
I fight for what I believe.
I stand firm on my principles.

Are these my positive traits or negative ones?

Race against time

Hectic hectic hectic is the keyword of the day!

6.15pm
Immediately after I finish the dreaded timesheet, I rushed down to the lobby to wait for my lil sis as I was rushing for a movie at 6.45 in Mid Valley! Porkie however moved at the speed of a.. um.. pig and I actually had to go back up to 8th floor and dragged her down! Precious time wasted!

6.36pm
Reached home, threw down my notebook, grabbed my jacket and got back into my car in 1 minute! Speeded in the rain until I saw ... the massive jam around Mid Valley!

6.50pm
Ran for the lift, got the tickets off the counter and sat down just when they were showing the movie title (sa-kwa). Hmm.. seems like I've been watching movies for the past 3 days. It was a very slow paced Korean romantic kinda movie (yes I watch all kinda movie except horror!). Slow but meaningful. It's actually those kinda movie that has no end... where you actually need to think think and make your own ending but it's good. However, since I'm terribly pushing my time here (have a 9pm badminton session with M-Power and also meeting a nuffie I met in Singapore, I actually left before the movie was over and it's the FIRST time I've ever done that! What to do... commited to my team maa...

8.46pm
Got out of the cinema and ran to the florist (dun ask). Bought what I wanted to buy, paid my parking and zoomed back to my place to change and pick up my gear.

8.58pm
Reached home and did the above.

9.03pm
Zoomed out of home towards the courts.

9.13pm
Reached the stadium and started playing with my new weapon - the EdgeSaber10! yay! Not used to it but pretty ok I must say.

3.44am
What the heck am I blogging about? At first it looked cool in my mind, you know.. all those time and location typewritten across the screen ala X-Files style. Not so interesting after all. Oh well...

Interrogated

Over the weekend I was being interrogated. No, not the type of you-are-a-suspect-i-shine-lamp-on-you kinda interrogation but rather... what is my type? Type as in the type of girl I like... the type I will fall for.

That is one helluva tough Q! Simply cuz, I've never ever set a 'type'. I believe that I will know when I meet her rather than limiting myself to a list of craved in stone criterias after all, to quote Forest "Life is like a box of chocolates, you never know what you're gonna get." right? Looking back, I've fallen for very different kinda girls, so this is like speaking thru real experience.

Unfortunately, the lady throwing out such tough question at me also happens to be a damn tough interrogator. I kinda started blurting out some 'keywords' so that to get her off my back and get this over with. This is when I have a OS (oh shit!) moment.

I realized that I was actually describing someone I've been thinking of a lot lately. Hmm...

It's been a while...

I'm just not cut for this blogging thing... but today, I just feel like putting some thoughts down.
I had the luxury of joining good ol Jeffrey and his family for a dinner (hope I wasn't interrupting :p) and a glimpse of his weekend. Stressful in a way I must say, with two kids at hand and a very busy wifey but it's good stress. Something I wish I could have someday.

Seeing the family makes me wish for one of my own. Of course that'll have to mean giving up my singlehood, the freedom of doing things without having to answer to anyone. To put my family ahead of myself. To think of the consequences of my actions before acting.

However, seeing Jeff, wifey and kids... it's all worth it. It's worth to have something to fight for... to live for. It's worth someone to share and I mean... really share every bit of small successes you've achieved with.
Seeing my friends starting their families, having babies is a wonderful thing. Seeing how kids grow, their innocence, their curiousity down to those goo-goo-gah-gah way of communicating is amazing.

It seems like I've got a soft side after all.

Scratches loves my gadgets

It's not that I'm abusive or anything. I'm very very careful handling my stuff but scratches just loves my gadgets. My iPod Touch, my P1i, PSP, even my Mazda3 all has their fare share of disturbing lines. I give up!

Barely 24 hours after having my Eee, I noticed a small fine line on the black bezel. So, I tried to wipe it off with my fingers resulting in more lines!

Based on my last experience of removing scratches using toothpaste, I immediately ran to get a dab of Colgate. Buff it a bit... and tadaaa! Instead of having 5 microscratches, I'm now having this bunch of them which is totally uncountable!!! :(

After a day of usage, I noticed dust started to stick on the bezel, so I went for a duster...guess what?? More scratches were created! It's really becoming unbearable now I don't even dare touch the glossy black bezel. What's up with this thing or is it just me?

Searching on the internet revealed that I can try Lemon Pledge furniture polishing, banana, egg or something called Novus Plastic Polishing system which I don't think is sold in Malaysia. Tried Lemon Pledge which cost RM12.90 but no luck. Ordered Novus costing me close to RM70. If that doesn't work, I might as well give it up. This link (http://www.notebookreview.com/default.asp?newsID=4545) has at least given me a slight glimmer of hope.

The more I jaga, there more scratches these things gets. Let's just hope this doesn't apply to people I sayang too!

Finally, MY EeePC 1005ha!

I've been researching on a netbook as a companion device for quite sometime and the requirements for me really was long battery life, the keyboard, multitouch trackpad, and hackintoshability. (Yes! I intend to make my netbook dual/triple boot and Mac OSX is definately going to be one of the system.)

This has shortlisted my list down to the EeePC 1000he, 1005ha or the MSI Wind U100. Finally today (20th September 2009) I made the plunge and went for a white 1005ha although I really love the black but it being a fingerprint magnet is far too irritating for me.

To be honest, it was a very close fight between those 3 models and I'm still not very sure if I've made the right one. Well, never try never know and this post is being typed on with my brand new netbook! 1 hour and counting, so far so good :)

Resistance is Futile

Decisions are easy, especially after a round of happy hour... I'm now owning a spanking new classic white pair of Bata Badmiton Master! Hmm... maybe I should dig out my old school uniform to match those shoes!

What was suppose to be RM29.99 became RM59.98 when my sis laid her eyes on a pink pair of plastic Bata! You know what they say - BATA - Buy and throw away. Let's just hope that's not true.

And now, I was given a RM5 discount voucher for my next purchase. How ar? Buy more and throw away shall I? :p

Blast from the Past

Funny how things happen to me on 31st Aug and how that makes 31st Aug a special for me when memories - both sweet and sour visit me. I look forward to each of their visits as they are parts of me no matter how deep they are buried in my mind, for I'm sure they will resurface, and this time around, I'll put them down in writing!

That's right! No more hide and seek now. Hah!
**ahem** Of cuz, the more personal ones will be kept in a safe place after all, everyone has their own dirty lil secrets ;)

31st Aug 2009.
Blast from the past number 1: Lat
I grew up with these dude! Long long time ago, I used to dream of becoming a cartoonist or an artist of some sort. Things changed but I'm still very much into creative/art kinda business. Back when I was in primary school, two of my favorite reads were Lat's Kampung Boy and Town Boy. Wonder if they are still hiding in my house somewhere... hmmm...

Anyways, this was actually triggered after reading my sister's blog. Didn't know that Lat has an exhibition and TODAY IS THE LAST DAY! Lucky I still manage to drop by.

Blast from the past number 2: Bata Badminton Master.
Lately I've developed a fond interest in old school sports shoes. Think Converse, cept that, the ones I'm fond of are those from China. Namely HuiLi (Warrior in English) and FeiYue. Both shoes are making a comeback (at least that's what I feel laaa) especially FeiYue which has caused quite a stir in European fashion - even Orlando Bloom was spotted wearing them.
One of my primary objective in my recent trip to China was to get myself a pair of FeiYue and HuiLi. Unfotunately, I only managed HuiLi and that was after visiting like over 30 shoe stalls/shops! Maybe because both brands originated from ShangHai and I was in ShenZhen.

Back to the main topic - Badminton Master! I stumbled upon http://www.badmintonmaster.com.my/ while looking around for old school sports shoes and boy I was hyped! Despite all the online contest I've came across as well as those I've conceived, this is the one that I really wanted to enter! Unforutnately, I found out bout this one ONE YEAR after the contest has ended.

That didn't stop me from going to the nearest Bata shop to check it out. In my hands, it's still the ugly pair of shoes which I refused to pick while I was in primary/secondary school. This time around however, they look nice being as ugly as I remembered :p

Reluctantly, I put it down and walked off cuz I've simply got far too many pair of new shoes which I've bought and has not worn. I've got shoes that can fight with girls so dun mess! Besides, I don't think it's appropriate wearing something that ugly to work (or play). If it's a pair of BM2000 Turbo (my fav in primary school days) it would probably be a very much different story!

Other blast from the past are too personal to put up here.

I'm proud. Not bad for a first post to my brand new blog huh? :)
